Google Glasses, How it works? and its Features

Google Glasses is also called Project Glasses and it is for use on Google's Andriod operating system for mobile devices. It is wearable computing glasses and it works just like hands-free computers. Google Glasses has a camera, a battery hidden inside the frame and a display screen. It will available in 2014 or earliest for public. It is different from Google Goggles, Google Goggles is a software and an application which can search the web based photos and scans while the Google Glasses is hardware. This is not the new concept but according to Google's attitude Google Glasses could be the first product to do the significant number of sale. According to latest news, the developers will be able to get hold of explorer edition units at some points in 2013 with a 'broad consumer offering'.

How It Works?

It is based on the cloud computing. It has the transmitters to send the data to cloud by using WIFI internet.

It is used a transparent LCD or AMOLED display to put information in front of your eyes. You can scroll and click the information by just tilting your head. An FCC filling in the US told us that WIFI and Bluetooth would be used to send the data on screen while the bone induction may be used for sound and it vibrates your skull to communicate the sound into you inner ear.

Features

Through IP it can communicate directly to cloud:

Google Glasses has transmitters which transfer the data to cloud by using WIFI internet. You can store the data and even get back that data at any time. This data can be the images, videos, text and anything you want to store.

Camera Functions:

It has a camera which is very intelligent, you can take any picture by just saying 'take a picture of this'.

AMOLED Display:

Google Glasses has Active Matrix (AM) OLED display having the composition of organic, cathode and anode layers on the top of another layer that contains the circuitry which is basically used.

The pixels are defined by the addition of organic material in a continuous and discrete dot pattern.

Make New Appointments and Appointment alerts:

You can make and save the new appointments and meeting schedule in it and after saving, appointments and meetings detail will show or display on the screen in time.

Weather Information:

It is a very intelligent glasses it will tell you the exact weather information by just watching the sky. This function also works using camera and internet technology.

Video chatting:

Through Google Glasses you can also do video chatting via VoIP (Voice over IP) Protocol. By this protocol voice will transmit in form of packets by using electronic media. Camera and internet is used for video chatting.

Voice Input and Output:

This is the key feature of this glasses. We don't need to type any message or reply, instead of this we just use our voice to input our message.

Navigation:

This is another feature of this glasses. You can find you locations, directions and map through the navigation feature. You can on this application by just tilting your head to scroll. All the directions will display on your screen by using camera and GPS.

If there is any hurdle or any other problem in your way for example you way is blocked then a message will show on your screen that subway is suspended and glasses will ask you to adopt another way. This feature works by using GPS and internet.

WIFI and Bluetooth:

Google glasses has WIFI and Bluetooth 4.0 technology, with the help of WIFI glasses will connect to the internet and through WIFI enabled it will connect with other WIFI active devices.

Web Search:

You can use web searches by use our voice as input information using internet via WIFI. You can see the search websites on display screen in front of your eyes.

Andriod Operating System:

It will use Andriod as an operating system. Andriod is basically aa smartphone operating system which is used in touch screen mobile devices and tablets. But, Google developed it currently with conjunction of Open Headset Alliance.

Advantages

It is u useful technology specially for disabled and handicapped people but it is also useful for other people too.
You don't need to write or type any message, just use your voice as input information.
A spectacle based compute is on your eyes rather than in you hand and in your pocket.
Fastest access of maps, directions, videos, files, chats and much more.

Disadvantages

It can be easily broken.
This glasses will show the data in front of your eye, so it can causes the accidents while driving because you will focus on the data and forget about surroundings.
Privacy of people may be breach.
People who already wear glasses, they will not able to wear this glasses.
It has a necessary internet connection if you don't have it you won't able to use it.
