Rooting Andriod and its Pros and Cons
Many of you people know about 'jailbreaking' which allows you to download and install third party applications modify your device.Rooting is also has the same feature. As andriod is an open source, i.e. you can download apps for free either they are paid or not, so what is the purpose of 'rooting' (unlock)? Well the answer is: rooting allows you to become an administrator of your andriod to modify you andriod freely according to your desire. It allows you to bypass the restriction which are applied by the manufacturers like HTC, Samsung etc. Before rooting you'll have the limited access to use third party apps but after rooting you andriod you'll have complete access to use it.Rooting has many advantages but it has also some disadvantages too. Let's take a look on its pros and cons.
Advantages
Font change:Other devices like Samsung galaxy, LG optimum series and Sony xperia come with font changer but they don't have enough features to change the fonts while rooting gives you full access and have many number of fonts with apps like Font Installer.
Overclocking:
Many of you people don't know about this.The vendors use processor which can give better performance than they give in normal situations but they use standard frequency level for processor so that they can perform better. This can be changed by apps like CPU frequency controller, it can modify the frequency for processor. The setCPU is the best app of overclocking for root users.
Upgrade you andriod to latest version:
As all devices are not upgraded but now this is possible by rooting the andriod which means that on older version you can enjoy and avail the newer version's apps, features and it looks like the newer one.
Apps can be saved on SD card:
Old device have less amount of internal memory to save the data and most of them don't have the apps to SD feature but with the help of apps like links2Sd and apps2SD you can move your apps to SD.
Full access to system files:
Normally user don't have the access to the andriod system file but with the help of Root Explorer app you can access the system file.
Delete stock apps
You can delete stock apps which are come with phones by rooting this and you can save you inernal memory, battery life and RAM.Root Explorer is also used for this purpose.
Install or Flash the Custom ROMs:
By flashing the custom ROM, you can install a modified or custom version of andriod.ROM manager app is used for this.
Backup the data:
Many apps can backup you data but they have limited features. By rooting this you can have full access to backup your data completely and the app for this purpose is Titanium backup.
Block ads:
You can also block those ads which popup during the use of apps with the help of Adfree andriod app.
Add Linux commands to Andriod OS:
By rooting the andriod, you can use its terminal like Linux terminal.You can run various commands.The app which is call andriod terminal emulator is used for this purpose.
Disadvantages
End of warranty:
It doesn't sounds good but it is true that when you root your andriod device, then warranty of this device will be no longer.
Bricking the device:
Bricking means completely hanging of device even it will not able to turn on.By rooting your device can b brick and the main reason of bricking is flashing a custom ROM because it may not be suitable for your device.
